In 1976, the founder of the brand, Nissim Israël, a.k.a. Olivier Strelli, presented his first creations at the Salon du prêt-à-porter Féminin, the women's ready-to-wear exhibition, in Paris. He was an immediate hit: 24,000 shirts sold like hot cakes. This enthusiasm boosted his confidence, leading him to subsequently launch his first jackets in various colours: apple green, brick red, straw yellow and coral red.
