Benjamin Garcia Saxe

We live in an era of great technological advancements that are continuosly expanding towards innovation and complexity. The fields of architecture and design are being influenced greatly by the development of new materials, new means of construction, and never before ways of representation that in turn constantly change the way that we create objects, spaces, and landscapes.
However, this advancement has also lead us to believe that 'good' architecture and design is that which most correctly harnesses all of these technologies and applies them as an excuse for acheiving excellence........ Benjamin Garcia Saxe

BLOXAS

BLOXAS was established by Anthony Clarke in 2009 and is an exploration into the fundamentals of multi-disciplinary design.
Various methods of visual communication are explored, including model making, hand sketching, and computer generation. These methods of investigation bind the design and development process, resulting in the delivery of innovative and investigative architecture on varying scales for varying outcomes.
BLOXAS is based on culture and public expression, drawing upon extensive experience within Australia and overseas.
Architecture is more than just built form. It is more than just an object in the landscape. Architecture is an expression of feelings, emotions and sensory experiences discovered through human involvement and interaction.
BLOXAS endeavours to create sculptural, landscape inspired architecture.

BURO II & ARCHI+I

Our projects and buildings ‘transcend’: they are more profound, more surprising, more functional, more sustainable or more profitable than expected. Frequently they combine these properties. Such projects are grown. They are the result of a search from various perspectives and take into account various environmental factors. They are the result of the confrontation between ideas and expertise, between research and expectations, between emotion and reason.....BURO II & ARCHI+I

Bourne Blue Architecture

Bourne Blue Architecture was established full time in Newcastle in July 1996. It’s directors are Rachael Bourne and Shane Blue, both graduates of Sydney University in 1991 and 1990 respectively. They moved to Canberra to design and then build the Fadden Hills house. They obtained a builders licence and sought to compliment their theoretical education with practical experience. Using a diverse team of furniture makers, boatbuilders and young architects, the project was completed within eighteen months. Both directors worked in practices in Sydney, Canberra and London before deciding to settle in Newcastle. In 15 years, 141 projects have been built, ranging from various domestic projects up to a $5 million multi purpose performance hall and sports centre for the Hunter Valley Grammar School. Bourne Blue employs two architects, Claire Lavis started with Bourne Blue in 2006 after 3 years experience with other practices and passed accreditation exams in 2009 to become a Registered Architect. Sarah Manners started with Bourne Blue in 2005 after graduating from Newcastle University. Sarah passed accreditation exams in 2008 and is also a Registered Architect. The practice is design based, and small, so that all projects have substantial director involvement, and a project architect who takes the project from beginning to end. The Practice has completed work from Canberra to Port Macquarie, including Sydney, Newcastle, Pokolbin, Wollombi and Pacific Palms. Our work has been published locally, nationally and internationally. The office is 100% solar powered with a rooftop 2kW photovoltaic array. Excess power is generated daily and is sold back to the grid. 6000L of water storage tanks collect rainwater for toilet flushing and garden use. The office car is a diesel VW Polo which emits only 135grams of CO2 per km and uses an average of 5 litres of fuel per 100km, thus assisting the practice to minimise it's impact upon the environment.

blauel architects

Since the practice was formed in 1986, it has achieved a reputation for innovative projects working on designs for banks, offices, cafés, fashion shops and substantial private residential properties.
The varied work of the studio over the past 15 years shows an ability to carry out work on different building types.
The successful design of the Cyberia Café at the Centre Pompidou in Paris led to further work on Internet Cafés in Bangkok, London, Manchester and for Granada.
A major fit out for RealNames California and a further project for a new headquarters building for the same client.
Other commissions include various contracts for the German Foreign Office, headquarters for two European Banks, a corporate fit-out in the International Financial Centre (former Nat West Tower) in the City of London and various projects for the BMW Group in Oxford.
The practice has experience working with listed structures for private clients in the UK, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. We are known for the application of technology in our projects. We believe in innovation where appropriate and where this will improve the end product and result in a more economic solution.
This aproach has created adaptable working environments that stimulate and excite. Colour and light have become integral in our approach which we use as a material rather than an application. The practice has a track record of delivering distinctive, flexible, innovative buildings and interiors. In response to the particular challenges of these specific briefs and the constraints of time and budget we have generated solutions that result in clients returning to us with repeat commissions.

Buro Happold

Since its early days, Buro Happold has evolved in scope, size and stature. The practice has chosen to follow a path of organic growth, in part to preserve rather than dilute the prevailing culture. Since being founded from one small office in Bath, today Buro Happold employs over 1,600 staff in more than 30 locations worldwide. Buro Happold recognises that its people are the practice and that investment in the business is a pre-requisite if they are to reach their potential. Our offices in Bath, Berlin and Warsaw have been extensively refurbished and improved to create better work environments that support multi-disciplinary integration and creative thinking. Our IT systems are continually under review to ensure that we provide the best possible service to clients, support the firm’s growth and improve connectivity and knowledge sharing between offices. Recent initiatives include the redevelopment of our intranet and the implementation of a new CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system, which will be completed in 2009.
