Vincent Dubourg

The French designer, Vincent Dubourg, works between Paris and the small town of Creuse, where his atelier is located.
Dubourg's latest work challenges all notions of contemporary furniture design by embracing a complete openness towards found and natural materials.
His unique pieces evoke a sense of the familiar and defy all attempts of present day categorization.
Dubourg describes his pieces as a fusion of furniture, architecture and sculpture. They strike a careful balance between the practical and beautiful.
He uses traditional furniture-making techniques such as glass blowing, wood-bending and metal casting as a means of transforming simple materials and found objects. His distinct style is at once nostalgic and avant-garde.

verner panton

Verner Panton was the most remarkable innovative talent of 20th Century design and architecture. Verner Panton's design was consistently brilliant. Verner Panton was first to create inflatable furniture, pioneered with the much acclaimed single molded plastic Panton chair and refused to accept gravity by creating the Flying Chair. Verner Panton envisioned a colorful and happy future. The career of Verner Panton was highlighted by the Fantasy landscapes he created for Bayer in 1968 and 1970 (Dralon & Visiona II) that have now achieved cult status. Verner Panton was not obstructed by limitations that adults incur throughout life. Instead, he thought and created with the imaginary vision of a child, in bold beautiful colors and shapes. Verner Panton was blessed with his beautiful wife Marianne, daughter Carin and their dog "Happy" (the name says it all)! He departed this world way too early in 1998 but his dreams live on in thousands & thousands of people and an entire new generation is still discovering his magical world every day.
