drdh architects

drdharchitects is a young, London based architecture practice, established in 2000 by Daniel Rosbottom and David Howarth. The practice works at a variety of scales and situates its projects within a wider research context, which includes teaching and writing on both art and architecture. The projects engage with the complex, layered conditions of the contemporary city. These are continually explored in relation to the issues and materials of construction. The practice seeks to create a tectonic, material and experiential architecture that is appropriate, contemporary and rooted in its context, at all scales. The practice has achieved critical recognition both for its built work and in competition. These have been published widely, within design and architecture journals and in the UK national press, including the Independent and the Daily Telegraph. In 2007 the Practice was one of six chosen by the American Institute of Architects for New Practice: London an exhibition at its New York gallery space. In 2005 the practice was placed second in the UK Young Architect of the Year Award.
