Colin Reid


Colin Reid is regarded as a pioneer in the field of kilncast glass. He exhibits internationally and has work in over 45 museum collections worldwide. He has undertaken many public and private commissions often combining glass with other media such as metal, stone or wood. Based in his studio in SW England, Colin has developed the expertise and facilities to handle large scale commissions in glass. Recent commissions include ‘Cipher Stone’, possibly the largest artwork to have been cast in glass in the UK, and ‘Ikthus’, a cast crystal font which can be seen in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. Colin recently won the prestigious Peoples Prize at the 2010 British Glass Biennale for his piece ‘Still Life with Books’. He is an Associate of the Royal Society of British Sculptors and an honorary member of the of the Contemporary Glass Society.
