NORD are architects who demonstrate the continued desire to engage with the world outwith their own discipline. The practice takes great inspiration from the UK’s legacy of ‘making things’. Streets nowadays have become generic and we face the danger of having every city in Britain looking all too familiar. But within industrial British there was a true sense of collective pride and craftsmanship about what came out of factories and workshops. This understanding and passion for materials, technological innovation, for detail, craftsmanship, texture and pattern is something, which underpins the work of NORD.
