Oscar Narud was born in 1978 in Oslo, studied at Central St.Martins and did his MA at the Royal College of Art from where he graduated in 2006. Oscar Narud has worked for celebrated studios such as El Ultimo Grito and Nigel Coates. Oscar Narud is a founding member (2006) of the nine strong OKAY design collective in North London, from where he runs his day-to-day practice. Alongside a number of private commissions Oscar Narud has also worked with the British Council, the Aram Gallery, the Royal College of Art and the Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw. Oscar Narud work has been exhibited extensively across Europe and featured in a number of publications. Oscar Narud latest work (Oct. 2010) is included in notable galleries such as Phillips De Pury in London and Moss Gallery in New York. There is a sense of simplicity and functionality to Oscar Narud work that seems to dictate and drive the aesthetics alongside a keen interest in drawing and making. Simple materials, processes and structural elements are highlighted and become the focal point of many of his designs. Oscar Narud continues to develop and exhibit his own work and expand on his approach to design.
