AR43

AR43 was founded by Lim Cheng Kooi in Singapore in 2006. Prior to this, Cheng Kooi was part of a trio of designers heading the renowned practice of Forum Architects. During his 12 year partnership with the firm, he was involved in a variety of projects, many of which have received awards and recognition through publications in top architectural journals.

Cheng Kooi has previously worked with William Lim Associates, an architectural firm widely respected for its innovative and unique designs. He has also worked in Akitek Tenggara II under the mentorship of Mr Tay Kheng Soon. Mr Tay remains one of the most deeply respected Singaporean architect of today.

His works comprise commercial, residential and hospitality architecture & interior works. He has also carried out charitable projects. The Karuna Home for the Disabled located in Bylakuppe in the district of Mysore, Karnataka State in South India is one such project he has undertaken.

An avid designer and self-taught painter, Cheng Kooi devotes himself not only to furthering his practice, but also painting and sculpture. His designs are an act of continual exploration based on knowledge and experience gained from the many influences in life.
