Los Angeles Design Group

The Los Angeles Design Group, LLC (The LADG) is a firm specializing in contemporary design at all scales. We have particular expertise in a materialist approach to design problems, exploiting the properties of pragmatic building materials to create environments and objects that are tailored to generate a specific sensory experience. Often, this approach utilizes advanced digital modeling software and machine fabrication to drive down costs and allow the emergence of rich textures, complex form, and refined detailing at the scale of human interaction. This narrow focus has produced a diverse array of executed projects, including multi-family residential buildings, retail interiors, tenant improvement packages, single-family residential buildings, interior renovations, graphic design and industrial design. Established in 2004, the firm has completed projects in California, Hawaii, Oregon, Colorado, New York and the UK.

Lawrence Architecture

Lawrence Architecture is an award-winning architectural firm with a rigorous approach to design. We specialize in single-family residential projects and also have experience with commercial, institutional, and multi-family projects. We have worked on projects with a broad range of budgets and schedule requirements. Our commitment is to design excellence and client service. We believe that the two most important elements of a successful design process are the client and the context. Good buildings acknowledge and respect their context whether it is an urban infill site or an open rural location. Cultural, environmental, and sustainable issues are all aspects of context and play an important role in shaping architecture. Behind every good building is a client who was actively involved in the process. We work collaboratively with our clients to achieve design solutions that uniquely fit their circumstances: their needs and desires; their budget and schedule. And while the design process can be difficult and stressful, w

Laguarda Low

" Design is the focus of our practice. The success of our firm in the international marketplace is a testament to our ability to respond efficiently and effectively to demanding client needs and to deliver innovative design solutions that add value to commercial development in a timely fashion. Our design philosophy is open and continually developing. We begin with a methodology of focusing each architectural project on the understanding and development of its urban design role.
Our focus is different with every commission. We believe that each project is complex and unique, and should generate individual responses. An unusual factor that differentiates us from other firms is that almost all of our global work is executed by the same team of design architects here in Dallas. We believe this gives us an enormous advantage over local or regional firms that work only in specific places, or divide international work between various, disconnected offices. We have accumulated a wealth of experience and a competitive edge by maintaining a group of talented people who have collaborated together in the same place for some time, giving them the congruence of a shared experience over a broad range of sites, strategies and design problems ".

Linebox Studio

"As an Architect I understand design as a cultural act which engages our everyday experiences and brings together individuals with their built environment.
Our design philosophy is grounded in a basic conviction and fundamental belief that great architecture is less about style and more about discovery.
This belief is what drives our relentless pursuit of connecting client needs and desires, project budget, context, and artistic expression into a truly unique sense of place.
LineBox is a small collaborative design studio that is interested in all project types regardless of size and budget. Unlike large corporate firms our clients benefit from having direct access to the principal of the firm throughout the entire project."
Andrew Reeves
Andrew founded LineBox Studio Inc. in 2002. He is a fully licensed Architect, member of the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (MRAIC).
Andrew received his professional Bachelor of Architecture degree from Carleton University. His strong fundamentals in the practice of architecture have been gained through fifteen years of work experience in projects of varying scale and complexity.
This knowledge and experience is applied to each project and special attention is given to every client. “True collaboration with the client is of most interest to me. I aspire to develop and manifest their visions, goals, and aspirations into a built form that reflects their personal characters and individuality.” - Andrew Reeves
From 1997-2004, Andrew worked for Brisbin Brook Beynon Architects based in Toronto and Ottawa. An award winning international architectural firm specializing in a wide range of projects including large commercial, institutional, academic, government and health care facilities.
His aptitude for design allowed him to progress from project designer to project Architect on a variety of commercial and institutional projects. From 1994 to 1997, Andrew worked for a couple of mid-sized architectural firms.
This is when he established the basis for his technical abilities while working as a technologist and designer on residential, commercial, institutional and educational projects.

l'Escaut
At l'Escaut the projects are formulated through various practices. Within the studio, the team of architects works with people from the performing and fine arts (actors, directors, theatre designers, producers, etc.). This interdisciplinary approach is nourished by a dimension of openness and sharing knowledge as well as pleasure. Preparing a meal is as important as carrying out a coordination meeting or technical research.
In the field, l'Escaut’s commitment is expressed in concrete terms through various levels of citizen participation (from consultation to appropriation, and including architecture workshops, dialogues, etc.). Anthropological research carried out by specialists, as well as a territorial approach developed by landscape architects, often back up the architectural and urban planning skills of the studio. l'Escaut commitment is also expressed in the staging dimension of the projects, which signifies a very physical understanding of their profession.
The spatial forms resulting from these practices are varied and specific according to the contexts and processes that have conditioned them. A few recurrences nonetheless: the maximum effect with the minimum means, with political, social and ecological awareness; a search for lightness relieving the investment in the project as measured in time and energy.
This approach requires continuous experimentation, and leads to concrete expressions with a strong personality. It is valued both by public institutions and by private clients.
L'Escaut is a cooperative company with 16 associates, including 3 administrators.
Occasional and recurrent partners are added to the team depending on the project: engineers, landscapers, town planners, artists, etc.
L’Escaut was founded in 1989 by Olivier Bastin, architect-scenographer, and Micheline Hardy, actress-director-scriptwriter-producer.

Lab architecture studio

Lab architecture studio is an international architectural practice pursuing the formulation of original, challenging contemporary building projects. as architects and urban designers, Lab architecture studio principle aim is to provide the spatial imagination necessary for constructing a new sensibility towards designing innovative and viable buildings within the confines of real world constraints and opportunities.
Through completed works, competitions and current projects, Lab architecture studio has consistently proposed a re-invigorated and expanded exploration of the effects of new organisational and ordering strategies through architectural form - a Laboratory of architectural speculation. These strategies have provided important new examples of built form, effective in accommodating new urban, institutional and commercial activities.
It is Lab architecture studio belief that the social dimension of space lies in its ability to be materialised and conceptualised by means of new and evermore imaginative spatial orderings.
Lab architecture studio operates a critical design approach which recognises the inherent complexity in building and construction and which harnesses this complexity to produce projects that are robust and adaptable.
It is a practice where design and tactical decisions operate in relationship to the numerous constraints and unforeseen developments of any project, whether large or small. The ability to not only accept change and alteration, but to use these critical events in a productive and reinvigorating manner is central to any progressive architectural practice.
Lab architecture studio values continuing collaborations with a number of other practices; structural engineers, environmental engineers, media and graphic consultants, as well as artists. the work of the studio addresses the need to maintain overall coherence of any project (building, master plan, infrastructure) whilst accommodating the important differences of the many constituent elements of that project.
Lab's approach is not about imposing a single vision or pre-determined lineage upon any specific project brief and prevailing conditions, but rather engaging in a collaborative design and consultative process to harness the full and inherent possibilities available to facilitate the emergence of a particular and appropriate response to the unique challenges in every project.
