Feilden Fowles is an emerging, young architecture practice established by Fergus Feilden and Edmund Fowles in 2009.
We work in close collaboration with designers and craftsmen on wide ranging projects, from the domestic scale and office design through to education and urban research.
We are rooted in tradition but are inspired by the future. We live in challenging times but from turmoil and uncertainty springs a new blend of traditional austerity and frugality, refined by modern design techniques.
Our architecture is rooted in a modernist humanist tradition stretching back to the beginning of the 20th century, yet this tradition manifests itself in very contemporary structures.
Our analysis of each project starts from an intimate knowledge of both place and people, combining prevailing conditions with human needs, to arrive at simple, functional and uplifting structures. Form may be inspired by geology, natural history or the vernacular of an area but is honed and refined by human necessity.
