Aleck Wilson Architects was established in 1998. The work has been primarily residential, with some retail projects, office projects and golf course clubhouses. Aleck is a third generation San Franciscan. He is also a third generation architect, whose grandfather had a practice in San Francisco in the 50’s and 60’s, Aleck L. Wilson and Associates.
Our design process is one that emphasizes spatial and contextual relationships, rather than a particular style. We are dedicated to creating timeless buildings designed to the owner’s and projects specific program. Each project is approached with an open perspective, and often results in diverse schematic studies. Constant across all projects are a close relationship with the client, project management inclusive of project budgeting, aesthetic evolution and education.
Our firm believes strongly in building and materials in the continuation of the design process. Aleck has a background in construction that has led the firm to have a symbiotic relationship with the builder and the building. These relationships and sensibilities were developed in working with existing building projects and have led to an informed process for larger and more developed projects. We strive to create projects that exceed our client’s desires, and fit seamlessly into the landscape and context. Each completed project reflects the unique client and site in the architectural solution.
