Toland Williams Architects is a design-focused architectural practice based in Sydney.
The practice was established in 1975 by Robert Toland and became Toland Williams in 1985 when Peter Williams became a partner.
A commission in 1987 for a factory development in Panyu, China marked the beginning of Toland Williams’ expansion into Asia and it subsequently opened an office in Hong Kong in 1991 and has subsequently worked on major projects in Shanghai and Guangzhou.
Today, Toland Williams and its staff have experience in Masterplanning, Architecture and Interior Architecture covering Commercial/Industrial Developments, Corporate Campuses, Medical Research/Development facilities, Public/Civic Developments, Education facilities, Recreational Buildings and Hospitality Projects.
Toland Williams Architects is a studio-based practice committed to design excellence and innovative solutions that can instigate positive and progressive outcomes for clients. Intrinsic to our approach is a collaborative process, be it within our Toland Williams office, the project team and the client, or with other specialist consultants.
Every project is unique to us and our approach and design reflects the specifics of Programme (client/brief) and Place (site) rather than any singular vision or preconceived ideas. Toland Williams believe that with creativity and innovation, excellent design outcomes are feasible and economically viable, producing solutions that respond to their environments in a sustainable manner.
