BAAS is an architecture and design studio set up by JORDI BADIA in 1994 in order to develop architectural, urban planning and interior design projects and is made up of professionals from different fields.
BAAS works with a team of 19 professionals made up basically of architects and interior designers who, together with a network of external collaborators such as structural and service engineers, quantity surveyors and landscape architects, guarantee the excellence of the projects carried out by the studio.
Among the regular works of this studio are projects for public entities as well as for private Promoters. The city morgues of León ( winner of the AR+D prize ) and Terrassa, the CH house in La Garriga (winner of FAD awards), the Orto clinic (finalist of FAD awards), the IBERCON office building in Palma de Mallorca, the Court building in Sant Boi (GISA), and the primary school in Granollers (winner of the 4th Bienal of Architecture of Vallés and finalist of FAD awards) can be highlighted.
The studio has just completed two state-protected apartment blocks in Papiol and Sant Vicenç del Torelló, and is currently working on the construction of Health Centres in Badalona and Salt and the Fundación Vila Casas new museum in Barcelona.
BAAS has won several awards for its buildings and has been featured in several trade publications (Architectural Review, El Croquis, A+U, Casabella...). It has also been invited to present its work in lectures throughout the world (Hong Kong, Krakow, Budapest, Zagreb, Lisbon...).
Jordi Badia and some of his collaborators teach at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Barcelona (ETSAB) – Barcelona School of Architecture – and at the ELISAVA Design School. In September 2007, BAAS has achieved the quality system certification, according to ISO 9001.
